How to Maintain New Customers with Print

All business owners know the struggle of acquiring new customers. It takes tons of time, energy, and resources to convert even just a few fresh faces into full-fledged patrons of your company. Yes, this process, for lack of a better term… hurts.

But, there is a much more painful reality business owners must sometimes face, and that is LOSING those new customers. Whether this is due to staunch competition, a lack of B2C communication, or really any other reason, the fact remains that losing customers after working so hard to acquire them, cuts pretty deep (especially into one’s bottom line.)

Luckily, there are ways to prevent this from happening, especially by utilizing print. Using certain printed materials is a great way to welcome new customers, and more importantly, keep them around.

Business Cards

Though this form of print be but little, it is mighty. A properly made business card conveys professionalism and gives a new customer a small glimpse into a company’s overall brand. And, of course, they make it easier for people to get in touch with a business and make continuous purchases . They can even serve as a little dose of exposure every time a customer opens their wallet, and can be easily passed around to other potential customers.

Letters and Cards

After your first interaction with a new customer, it’s always a great idea to send a welcome message or a “thank you” in the form of a letter or card. Sending printed welcome messages allows business owners to make a good impression straight off the bat and prove that doing business with them is a pleasant experience. Likewise, sending a thank you letter or card to a new customer let’s them know that they are important and that their business is highly valued. This touch is a great way to make a lasting impression on people that makes your business stand out from the competition.

Catalogues, Brochures, and Booklets

While these forms of print may or may not always be useful based on the nature of a given business, they can serve as a great resource to describe and showcase what a company has to offer. Catalogues, brochures and booklets have the ability to give new customers a comprehensive run down of a company’s products/services, pricing, and other valuable information. Having these materials mailed out or available in a brick and mortar location can even give new prospective customers an opportunity to further consider making a purchase in the comfort of their own home, work, or practically anywhere else.

Nobody wants to work hard to expand their consumer base just to lose them for ‘xyz’ reasons. The goal is to get new customers and transform them into loyal, repeat customers. Utilizing printed materials is one sure fire way to help businesses reach this goal. Print can serve as an introductory piece, a way to get in touch, a show of gratitude, and an educational tool for new customers. These thoughtful and personalized materials really resonate with people and make them feel valued. When a company continues to impress positively upon people time and time again, they effectively guarantee repeat business!
